We are pleased to be nominees for the Abbotsford News’ annual A-List. We were nominated for the second year in a row in the Visual Artist category. It is not only an honour to be nominated, but also flattering that our community sees us as artists not just a business or photographers. We want to thank everyone who has voted and those who have supported us over the years to allow us to live our dream of being full-time professional artists.
Spring has sprung a few weeks earlier than normal in the Fraser Valley thanks to the gorgeous sun we had this past weekend. We enjoyed going on several walks, getting Xander his first skateboard, replacing Lexi’s bike wheel that she skidded right through, thrifting and having some delicious dinners with our families.
The cherry blossoms are out so if you’ve been dreaming of a portrait session with them, now is the time to give us a call and make arrangements. 604-864-6339
Revival Arts is an award winning and accredited portrait photography studio on beautiful Eagle Mountain in Abbotsford. Jason Brown enjoy creating stunning portraits that you will enjoy looking at every day in your home.
We are gearing up to start our dance photography and are excited to be doing photography for Project Dance in Chilliwack, Creative Edge in Abbotsford and Xtreme Talent in Abbotsford.
Parents, we are working at making the process as easy for you as possible. We realize that you have a lot of things on your plate, so here are the three things you need to know:
1. Please fill in a preorder envelope for each dance that you want your dancer individually photographed for. Include cash or cheque payment to Revival Arts. You can do one payment for your entire family.
2. Dancer brings a preorder envelope for each dance to hand to the photographer and is photographed as a group and individually if requested.
3. Orders will be available for pick up at your dance studio the week after the year end show.
For more information, you are welcome to contact us at 604-864-6339, 1-877-310-3500 or email@example.com. We look forward to photographing your dancer!
If you are part of a dance studio looking to have amazing photographs done by an experienced dance photographer, please give us a call or email so we can chat about your dance photography needs.
Finally, it’s time to celebrate you!

We are offering some pretty awesome photography classes in April and May. You can find more information on the classes – Lighting: Adding impact to your images, SLRs for Dummies and Manual Settings – on our Photography Classes website.
Now is the time to book your graduate in for photographs!
Our most recent photography class was met with rave reviews. Here’s what one student had to say: “You are fantastic in your teaching method and what a set up you have to share your knowledge! I can’t believe how much I learned tonight and how inspired I left feeling!” -Sue Raymond-Holley
I’ve been talking to several people recently who are deeply disturbed that the colour on their photographs is completely wrong. In the example above, you can see the left photograph has a yellow tinge. The one on the right is the correct colour. This is caused by the different colour that each light source has. You can either fix it by setting your white balance correctly or in post production.
If you’ve had this problem and want to learn how to correct it, you need to sign up for our Manual Settings photography class offered this Friday, January 27th from 7:00 – 9:00. You can find more information and sign up here. As of the time this was posted, there are only two spots available as we limit our class sizes to 12.
We are looking forward to launching our new photography classes tomorrow with our Composition: Seeing beyond the obvious course tomorrow. This class is good for beginner to intermediate amateurs with SLR or point and shoot cameras.
We also have room in our SLRs for Dummies class offered this Friday. In this class you will learn how to focus, change between shooting modes, download and change lenses. It is an excellent introductory class if you received a new camera over the holidays or are intimidated by all the bells and whistles on your camera.
All of our classes are taught in Revival Arts Studio by full-time professional photographer, Jason Brown, in an engaging, hands-on environment. We will give you practical tips and techniques, show you examples from our own work and do several exercises in class to apply what you are learning.
Many people have asked us if we have more classes scheduled for the rest of the year. The answer is “No”. If you want to learn more, now is the time to sign up as we are expecting baby #3 in March and are being careful about what additional activities we commit to.
