Jada Bee was our first newborn to have a natural light portrait session in our new studio. She had enough hair at a few days old to wear a barrette! Her mom brought along some awesome props which got our creative juices flowing.

We fell off the blog wagon due to a huge printing back log. It’s been a while since Jada’s session, but I’m pretty sure she can’t quite walk yet. I’m know she’s a lot larger than this now! Here are a few of our favorites …

Devon came to our studio for a fun portrait session. He has a bright personality and gave us lots of grins and smiles. He is so close to sitting on his own but still needed a little support. He’s probably able to do it all on his own by now. It’s amazing how quickly kids learn new things and change. Here are a few favorites …

Marcus has melted our hearts. We’ve already created some prints from his session and the first one below of him smiling we left out in our production room because it made us happy every time we saw it. Serena and Preston brought in their little brother for his first portrait session. It was great to see the family as they were one of my Kindermusik families. I miss seeing families weekly so it’s always a treat to photograph them and to have a chance to catch up. Here are a few of our favorites ….

Baby Daphne made her first appearance at our studio recently accompanied by big sister Bryna. Bryna enjoyed checking Daphne’s hair, giving her kisses and then was more interested in gold fish crackers and moving around. Priorities, I tell you!

It was fun to photograph this family again. Niki + Shawn are amazing with kids and know how to make things fun and engage Bryna. They have a large repertoire of songs and poems, many of which I recognize from when I taught Kindermusik. I think we’ll start bringing them to all of our sessions! Here are a few of our favorites …

We are very excited to launch the biggest project so far in our photography career! We are creating a coffee table art book titled Imagine featuring portraits of local kids. We have been planning the project for several months + the website just went live a few days ago so we can *finally* tell you about it.

The $75 per family session fee will be donated entirely to Matthew’s House, a respite home in Abbotsford for children with severe disabilities.

This is a large project + we need your help in getting the word out to all of the families who would like to participate! We know there are several hundred of you out there who read our blog + Facebook posts everyday. We are pumped to create a book that will be a part of people’s history + to give back to our community at the same time. Do you ever get the feeling that you’re on the cusp of something big? That’s how we feel now + we want you to be a part of it!

Big sister, Hope, brought her new brother, Maverick, into our studio for his first portrait session. Something must run in the family because they both enjoyed having their picture taken + were adorable to photograph! Hope does have previous experience. Remember the butterfly session we did?
