Our son, Justus Shinen, at 36 hours old.
Peace! Little Jayden at his first session. He was under 5 pounds and worked the camera like a pro.
You know that feeling when you get a new car and suddenly you notice so many similar cars? I’m feeling that way about babies these days – they’re everywhere!
Welcome to the world beautiful baby Noelle.

We enjoy working with a clients to create the perfect image for them. When Kelly approached us wanting to photograph her newborn on a horse, I have to admit I was a little skeptical that it would work. We used our connections to find the perfect horse and the perfect location.
My Dad’s watched us create set ups out of random items and has commented, “So photography is a lot of smoke a mirrors, isn’t it?” It is. Much of what you see in the media today is not real. It’s masterful lighting and talented post production.
Safety is our #1 priority when photographing babies, so Daddy was always holding Trevor and the horse owner was right with her horse. The final photograph didn’t really happen. It’s a combination of two images which you can see below. Jason also cleaned up the background by cropping, removing some objects like the telephone poles and darkening the mountains.
We enjoy rising to challenges and our client is very pleased with how this unique image turned out. It will stand the test of time on display in their home and will be a great memory of how tiny Trevor was at one point.
If you have a photography challenge for us, please drop us a line. We’d be honored to create something memorable and meaningful for you!
Over the past months, we’ve been watching my sister’s baby belly grow and waiting with anticipation to meet the little person who would be joining the family. On July 24th, Brody David arrived three weeks early weighing in at 6lbs. 14oz. He is adorable and big sister Melissa is very proud to show him off. Here are a few photographs Jason took of him …

“Somewhere there is someone that dreams of your smile, and finds in your presence that life is worthwhile, so when you are lonely remember it’s true, someone somewhere is thinking of you.”
If you had photographs printed sometime between September 2009 and April 2010, Jacki was probably the one who put them all together. She is on maternity leave and spending her time as a servant to adorable Logan.
He came by our studio when he was a few days old for his very first portrait session. Jacki knows how things work and had some ideas in mind for his session. I didn’t believe her at first that Logan was relaxed enough to lie in the grass but he was! Mommy’s always right.
Here are a few of the baby photographs from his session …
Jada Bee was our first newborn to have a natural light portrait session in our new studio. She had enough hair at a few days old to wear a barrette! Her mom brought along some awesome props which got our creative juices flowing.
We fell off the blog wagon due to a huge printing back log. It’s been a while since Jada’s session, but I’m pretty sure she can’t quite walk yet. I’m know she’s a lot larger than this now! Here are a few of our favorites …
Devon came to our studio for a fun portrait session. He has a bright personality and gave us lots of grins and smiles. He is so close to sitting on his own but still needed a little support. He’s probably able to do it all on his own by now. It’s amazing how quickly kids learn new things and change. Here are a few favorites …
