I love this photograph because it’s not your average portrait of kids. With the lines and posing you get a strong triangular shape which makes it interesting. Jason was studying to become an architect before picking up a camera and switching focuses (pun intended) so he has a knack for including it in unique ways in his portraits.

aaliyah : imagine session

Aaliyah came to our studio for one of our first Imagine child portrait sessions for 2012. She is cute as a button and lights up when she smiles or hams it up for the camera. I loved the colours her mom chose for her outfit. So fun!

Imagine is the book of child portraiture that we create each year. All of the session fees for our third book will be donated to the Make-A-Wish foundation. If you’re interested in having your child(ren) participate for a $75 per family fee, please visit www.imaginekids.ca to sign up.

Congratulations to Nyomi the winner for our Show Your Smile Contest. She will be featured on the cover of the June 2012 edition of WestCoast Families and won a great prize package from Revival Arts, WestCoast Families and Toy Traders. All proceeds from the contest went to the Langley Child Development Centre. Thank you to everyone who participated!

the cool cousins

We’ve been photographing this family for a few years and I know that I sound like someone I would have mentally classified as an annoying as a kid, but the kids really are growing up so quickly. Here’s a photograph of them from two years ago. Big changes!

One thing that’s interesting about this family is that all of the families have the birth order girl-girl-boy … even the parents.

annual trethewey house sessions for imagine book

We are now booking sessions for our 2012 Imagine book of children’s portraiture and have spaces for 8 children to be photographed at the historic Trethewey House on Thursday, February 2nd.

This is our third year of this exciting project and Trethewey House is a beautiful location to have natural light portraits done. It is an arts and crafts style home built in 1920 by timber baron J.O. Trethewey. Children enjoy exploring the home as it has been styled in ’20s furniture and finishings and even has a room for the Trethewey’s young son, Joey, complete with a few of his toys.

If you would like to have your child(ren) photographed at historic Trethewey House in Abbotsford for this book that is benefiting the Make-A-Wish Foundation, please sign up through our www.imaginekids.ca website or phone us at 604-864-6339 or 1-877-310-3500. Spaces are booked on a first come basis so don’t delay.

Olivia comes her Revival Arts portrait session every year which is a great keepsake as she’s growing up so quickly. It’s neat to look back at her photographs and see how she looks the same yet different. If you know us from Darcie’s Kindermusik years, Olivia was the cover baby of the purple Kindermusik brochure. 4th Annual Client Appreciation Boo Shoot

Every year we open our studio to our clients to bring their children for portraits of them in their costumes in exchange for a donation to the Abbotsford Food Bank. We collected a lot of food and had a great time photographing the children and pug in their outfits! Here’s one photograph of each child and you can see more in our Facebook page album …
