3. Jason will take your profile picture for free – From 6:30 – 7:00 and 8:00 – 8:30, Jason will be doing complimentary photographs in our bunker studio that we will email for you to use as a hot, new profile picture.

4. Watch makeovers on site – We will be making over two women who entered our makeover contest. Sharon and Wendy will receive hair cuts from Fire + Ice Hair Company and makeup from Makeup Infusion before having their portrait taken by Revival Arts.

5. We have hand picked friendly, knowledgeable vendors with unique products – We invite vendors who we use products from and who we like. A few highlights you will experience an Arbonne mini-spa, Norwex cleaning magic and Epicure dips and appetizers. We also have amazing Abbotsford artisans coming with unique products

6. Darcie’s making her famous mulled apple cider using real Willow View Farms apple cider. Yumm!

Matthew is my cousin’s child who was born with severe cerebral palsy. His parents always were very involved in his care but also realized that they sometimes needed to step back and let others help. They have a vision to create a place where other families can find support for their children in an environment that reminds them of home. There is a moving video about the process Matthew’s parents have gone through on the Matthew’s House website.

Matthew’s House recently held their first annual golf classic fundraiser at Ledgeview Golf Course in Abbotsford that raised $85,000. Jason was lurking in the bushes and stalking golfers to capture some great photographs of the event. Here are a few favorites …

Q. What will I learn in this class?
A. We want to help you take even better photographs and Seeing Creatively is designed to do just that. You will learn ways to rethink the familiar and to watch for things in your surroundings such as light, texture, shape, lines, tones and colour that will help you capture one-of-a-kind photographs. Seeing Creatively offers shooting opportunities with feedback to deepen your understanding, appreciation and enjoyment of photography.

Q. What level is this class for?
A. We accept amateur photographers from beginner to intermediate in this class. Whether you just picked up your camera, or whether you are comfortable shooting on manual, you will learn and be challenged.

Revival Arts does event photography for a variety of events and celebrations. You can see galleries of our eye catching images at www.commercial-photographers.ca.

Some students and instructors from her pole fitness studio prepared pole and aerial hoop performances. I (Darcie) was one of them and enjoyed the challenge of training, practicing and performing in this relatively new art form for myself. I am the one below in the tribal body paint!

There were also performers from Inner Ring in Vancouver, Cadence Fitness in Victoria, Dance in Motion in Abbotsford, The Fae in Abbotsford and Jenyne Butterfly from Las Vegas.

As someone who is passionate about the arts and has high standards, I can honestly say that I was blown away by all of the performances. I also am amazed by how supportive everyone at The Goddess Movement is. I was touched by the love and acceptance I experienced.

All of the proceeds from this event are being donated to the Ann Davis Transition Society that offers shelter and support to abused women and their children, as well as other programs. It’s a great fit as The Goddess Movement is about empowering women!

I learned a few tidbits about the Stanley Cup. There are three Stanley Cups and it is a no-no to refer to the one we photographed as a “replica”. It is the real one that the players skate around with when they win so it has a few dents and dings on it.

The engraving for the Vancouver Millionaires is inside the top cup. When they run out of room to engrave the winner’s names, they take the top ring of the bottom off and add a new ring to the bottom. The extra rings are on display at the Hockey Hall of Fame.
