Our home recently was outfitted with gorgeous Phantom Screens in preparation for some product photography we did for them. The screens are functional and practical so I can’t wait for the weather to warm up so we can use them.

There are two primary streams of our business: portrait and commercial photography. Commercial photography is for businesses and organizations that want to set themselves apart from the competition with impactful images.

We have experience photographing everything from events and lifestyle images to product and promotional photography. We have seen our photographs blown up as billboards or used small on websites. We enjoy making our clients look their best and being a part of their marketing team.

Anne de Verteuil is a fibre artist based in Abbotsford. She recently had us photograph some of her pieces that have come out of her personal journey away from anxiety and panic to serenity.

She has allowed us to share some of the images, as well as an excerpt from the poetry she has written to go with them. She is creating a line of cards that feature her art work and poetry.

My Deceit
Dark winged creature that reigns over the secret black places of my mind,

bugalug cinch belts : kids fashion photographer

We may be just a teeny bit biased, but we think that the model for Bugalug‘s Cinch belt image was extra cute. She is our daughter, Lexi, who loves to pose for the camera when it suits her mood. We were excited when E-Shaw’s featured Bugalug and used the photograph.

Sundi, the creator of the Bugalug Cinch belt, sent us a sample a while ago that Lexi absolutely loves. This is high praise from a three year old who has a very distinct and eclectic personal style when it comes to her clothing! I love the belts too because they are functional and fashionable. They are reversible and have a simple snap closure that make the belts easy to put on and take off.

Jenn has a beautiful Paphiopedilum orchid that blooms once a year and our mutual friend Julie, delivered the flower to our studio so we could photograph it. It was the day before our move so we made the set with the back of a framed print and the reflector out of a white side table. It was a welcome breath of beauty and break from packing. kv bijou : off to the sundance film festival

Kelsey of KV BIJOU has become a friend after we connected a year ago through Facebook. She designs jewellery and recently was invited to be part of the guest lounge at the Sundance Film Festival. There was a great article on her in The Vancouver Sun yesterday. Here is half of the necklaces she’ll be taking with her when she goes this weekend.

We designed and printed a banner for her booth. Here it is on our office floor. (Jason originally was laying the other direction but it looked a little creepy with the model next to him so that’s why he’s upside down.)

The KV Bijou website has a great variety of necklaces, earings and bracelets for sale. The jewellery that she’s designed for the stars of Sundance will also be available on her website in February. Here’s a sneak peek at one of the designs she made for Sundance.

It’s been a whirlwind year for Kelsey Vanderhorst the designer behind KV Bijou jewellery. It’s been less than a year since she quit her job in order to keep up with her rapidly growing jewellery business. She has many celebrity fans including model Bar Refaeli, Jillian Harris of the Bachelorette, model Sessilee Lopez and Dawn Chumbai of Breakfast Television to name a few.

She was part of the recent 2009 CCMA (Canadian Country Music Association) Gift Lounge and is going to be the exclusive jeweller at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival Gift Lounge in a few weeks. We are excited for her and updated the product photography for her website recently. (I’ve been on her website so much I can sing along with all the songs.) Here are a few favorites …

gp recovery services rov : remote operated underwater camera

Gary + Penny of GP Recovery Services in the Cariboo region of BC have a business that inspects, researches and recovers underwater items. From finding lost wallets and dam inspections, to body recovery and underwater environmental filming, they do it all!

While we were staying at my parents’ cabin at Green Lake, they pulled up a tractor that had been on the bottom of a Loon Lake for 5 years. They also showed us some amazing footage they’ve recorded of the freshwater microbialites in Pavilion Lake where NASA and UBC are now doing extensive research on them.

They needed some higher resolution photographs of their new ROV so Jason set up a makeshift studio from a piece of plywood, an old bedspread and a patio umbrella while we were on vacation. Here are a few of the pictures he took:

We met Susan Carraretto of Pedal Cars and Retro at a Meet and Tweet in Surrey. She is full of energy and ideas! We were excited when she contacted us to take pictures of a pink, jalopy pedal car. Her daughter was a little star model and enjoyed riding the car. Lexi also came along to model but she decided to only give her serious scowl and then refused to share the car. *sigh*

Susan, along with her twin sister Janice, run a serious of blogs with great information and contests on them. The main one is 5 Minutes for Mom and has links to their other sites on it. They’re running a contest right now where you can win a Balance Bike for your toddler so be sure to check it out and enter.
