One of our highlights for 2013 has been We Day in Seattle. We were asked to be their celebrity photographer to capture some of the stars wearing the Me to We Artisans jewellery line after they came off stage.
We have never experienced anything quite like it. Some of the people we rubbed shoulders with (or more accurately tried not to stare at) were Magic Johnson, MC Hammer, Jennifer Hudson, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, Martin Luther King III, Canadian Tenors, Nelly Furtado, Kid President, Pete Carroll and four Seattle Seahawks, Martin Sheen and Hedley to name the ones who I can remember off the top of my head.
The We Day team is phenomenal and run a very efficient and smooth event. When you are coordinating that many celebrities, you need to be prepared for anything. So we watched from back stage and tried to act natural as we were interacting with and photographing people we’ve only read about before.
Jennifer Hudson had one of the largest crowds of people following her around and there was lots going on at the time so it’s a bit of a blur. One thing I do remember though is she knows how to work a camera!
We have been doing lots of headshots for a wide variety of people. My favourite part of this job is meeting people. So far in 2013 we have photographed actors, musicians, politicians, business owners, entrepreneurs, professionals, realtors, corporate executives and lawyers. It makes for a great portfolio is as well.
Our clients are from throughout the Fraser Valley (Abbotsford, Langley, Chilliwack, Mission, Maple Ridge, Surrey), Coquitlam, Burnaby and Vancouver. We have a beautiful studio on Eagle Mountain in Abbotsford to do promotional portraits in or we can bring our mobile studio to you. Check out our new website for more information.
This is our fifth year as photography sponsors for the Total Makeover Challenge. We love seeing the changes in the women each year. Many join expecting just to lose weight but then are surprised to find what other areas of their lives go through a challenge as well.
Congratulations to the top 10 contestants this year:
Jocelyn Fornwald, Kim Wass, Kimberly Thompson, Katherine Wall, Laura Carver, Lynn Thompson, Robyne Adlam, Shannon Janzen, Tina Richardson and Theresa Walsh.
You can see their before and after photographs on our Facebook page.

I enjoy reading their lifestyle blog and always pick up great tips on entertaining, travel, beauty, food, fashion and interior design. I will be using their hot chocolate bar idea for an event we’re hosting next week and am completely hooked on Stila cosmetics now.

The National Aboriginal Achievement Awards are happened recently in Vancouver. Congratulations to actor Adam Beach who we photographed for the program. His latest project, Arctic Air, is being partially filmed in Aldergrove and is the story of an airline in the arctic being run by an interesting group of people. He has a great, lead role which seems to suit him well.
We were honored to photograph Adam Beach for the 2012 National Aboriginal Achievement Awards. He is one of 15 recipients who will be honored for their contributions in a variety of fields such as arts, politics, health, environment and youth. As an actor, he is receiving his award for the contribution to the arts. Some of his recent roles are Arctic Air, Combat Hospital, Cowboys and Aliens and Law & Order: SVU.
