Wanting to do something interesting for my birthday this year, I pulled together a gig with five local photographers, three gorgeous 1920’s style models, and a unique vintage industrial interior in Mission - the Power House at Stave Falls. It was a blast! There were a lot of images from the shoot, but for now here’s one image of each model as well as a closing group shot:

In above photo, clockwise, starting from left:
Kelsey (model), Chris (photographer), Lara (photographer), Mark + Elizabeth (photographers), Amber (model), Jenn (model), Mike (photographer), Me
Thanks to all who came and especially to Micaela (hair) and Danielle (makeup) - awesome styling!

With beautiful names like Lauren and Willow we suspected that we were in for a treat with these girls. It’s been rainy around here lately and we had to wade through a lake in the parking lot to get to the spot we were doing photos for our Imagine book.
The girls were wearing their soft, warm sweaters which matched the colour of their eyes. Daddy gave a hilarious performance by pretending to fall down which elicited smiles and laughter. Mommy was on hand to keep The Talent warm, stylish and happy which is no small feat!
Here are a few of our favorites ….

Michelle + Nadia met Jason in Fort Langley for their family portraits. It was a beautiful fall day and they wanted something that involved nature. Nadia’s a dancer so she also did some whirling and twirling.
I think as photographers we come to appreciate the different colours, textures and lighting of the changing seasons. During November, the colour from the leaves on the ground and grass that is still green makes for a nice contrast to the bare trees. Here are a few favorites …

Marley, Cassidy and Ally met Jason in Fort Langley for their Imagine portrait session. It was a beautiful day and they had a couple outfits along to mix things up a bit. I love editing photos and seeing how siblings faces look similar yet unique. Here are a few of our favorites other than the ones that we’ll be putting in the book ….

Jason is creating awesome Christmas cards this year! Each card is unique and none are made from templates. Several clients have told us that their friends are already asking about our cards. Some cards in previous years have unofficially won the award for “Best Christmas Card at the Office” and a couple funny ones even became collectibles. They’re a little gift that people who receive them really appreciate.
If you had a session with us in 2009, there is still time to order yours. Please contact us at 604-864-6339 or email this week to place your order. We’ve been putting off posting this because we wanted to take pictures of some of our new cards but just haven’t had time to do it. Here’s an old picture of old cards and perhaps after we finish all of the designs we can post a few …

We have enjoyed having Gurbir join us after school a few days a week for the month of November. He is a star student at W.J. Mouat in Abbotsford and is interested in photography among many other things. Since he’s been working with us, he’s done a Global Issues Symposium for Youth through the Red Cross and also did a 24 hour vow of silence to raise awareness for Free the Children.
He wanted to catch a glimpse of the behind the scenes things that happen at a photography studio so that’s what we’ve been giving him. Unfortunately, most of what we do isn’t taking pictures but on Friday we decided it was time we let him do a little shooting. (I also wanted a new profile pic for Facebook.) So we set up some lights and did a mini photo shoot at our studio. Here are a few of the pictures …

We met Zac + Keely for their Imagine photography session in Abbotsford the day that we had the hailstorm. We went ahead with the session and the kids were amazing. They absolutely light up when they smile!
For those of you not from the area, I’m writing this on November 20th and Whistler already has broken their snowfall record which for us in the Fraser Valley means: it’s been a rainy November!
Here are a few favorites ….

Earlier this fall, Jason photographed Michael W. Smith’s concert when he was in Abbotsford. I just checked out his website and he’s posted a gallery of the pictures. You can check them out here.

Luke + Avery have grown a whole lot since they were in my Kindermusik classes. We met them on a beautiful fall day for some relaxed, fun kids portraits for our Imagine art book. Avery is into dance and Luke is into sports so they brought some of their equipment to use as props. Here are a few favorites …
