We had a bunch of kids in costumes come to our studio today for a client appreciation Boo Shoot. There were so many adorable costumes! Thanks everyone for coming out + bringing donations for the food bank. We gathered several large boxes of food that I am looking forward to dropping off on Monday. Here are our favorites …
We had a great time meeting thousands of people at the West Coast Women’s Show at TRADEX this weekend. Congratulations to Andrea O. our draw winner! We have photographed her + her family several times over the last few years + are excited that we’ll be seeing them again soon.

We have over 100 kids signed up for our Imagine art book and did our first session today. We are excited about this project! We are photographing about 200 kids in the next half a year + each kid will have a picture in the Imagine art book we are creating. The best part is the session fees are donated to Matthew’s House. It is a great way for us to document the kids in our community and give back to kids in our community. We are still looking for kids to sign up + you can find more information on our Imagine website.

We are enjoying schmoozing at the West Coast Women’s Show. It’s at TRADEX in Abbotsford + we’re in booth #372 in the interior design section from 10:00 - 5:30 today. If you stop by, be sure to enter our draw for a $500 gift certificate!
Yesterday we took a break from our booth to check out Colin + Justin from Home Heist. They were fabulous + hilarious.
We also checked out the Forever Yours + the Fire Fighter / 911 fashion show which was entertaining as always. I think the women’s reaction to the fire fighters is as entertaining as the fire fighters themselves.
We are running off the door + quickly threw this together. If by chance you’d like to see some of the pics a little larger (wink, wink), leave us a comment + we’ll see what we can do for tomorrow.
The ultimate challenge for any photographer is photographing their own family! The Browns were shockingly well behaved this year for their annual session which we did at Campbell Valley Park in Langley. Jason’s mom had a great idea to style everyone with red scarves. They send Christmas photo cards over to the old country (England) every year + to their sailing friends. Here are a few favorites …
We met the Koop family up at the Westminster Abbye in Mission on Thanksgiving weekend for some family portraits. We had photographed Warren + RaeChelle’s wedding 3 years ago and the family has expanded since then! It was a beautiful day + everyone was looking snazzy + relaxed which made our job easy. I think the Davis Family deserves the title of Jason’s first official family photography subjects. He’s been photographing them for 7 or 8 years now - long before we got serious about photography.
We were recently over for dinner + enjoying looking at their family gallery wall after an amazing dinner (Mark is the best cook!) + decided with Sherry that it was time for something more edgy + different. Now that we photograph some of their friends things are a little competitive with who has the coolest Christmas cards.
Nathanial + Josh are into athletics so we had them bring their gear, arranged ourselves upwind from them + did some fun photos in Downes Bowl. Here are a few favorites …

We met the Diotte family at Downes Bowl where they often spend time biking or running together. Kiera + Lucas were excited to have some pictures taken in the tunnel where they enjoy listening to their echos when they yell, “I love Mommy!” as they ride through on their bikes. We photographed the Bacon family on Thanksgiving weekend + ended up doing a few photos in our studio before heading to Fish Trap Creek. We’ve been photographing them for several years [2007 - newborns] [2007 - family] [2008] + had Toby in my Kindermusik classes well before that. It’s been fun seeing how their family has grown + changed. This year with two active two year olds we were using all the tricks in our bags + up our sleeves to keep everyone engaged at the same time!
