We were excited when Evita called us to use a gift certificate for a portrait session with her extended family. Her property is a photographers dream come true with trees, fields and gardens with a beautiful red, hip roof barn in the middle. We think of it as the cherry on the top of a photographic location sundae.
Her family was ready to go when we arrived and kept their easy going attitudes even when it started to pour rain. They were also great at avoiding the mounds of horse poop that were scattered around the field. The lighting was beautiful and we are very happy to show off a few of our favorites …

We are extremely excited that Abbotsford has a new arts and culture centre and were honored to photograph it for its new website.
The mission of The Reach Gallery Museum Abbotsford is to become the centre of cultural and creative innovation in the Fraser Valley. It is committed to preserving and sharing the stories of our rich and diverse cultural heritage and showcasing the best in the visual arts from both inside and outside our community.
We look forward to seeing many displays of international, national and local artists in our hometown.
Here are a few pictures we took last week …

We got our copy of the Salvation Army’s Annual Review for Canada and Bermuda and were happy to see our photograph was used for the opening story. Click here and then after you’ve read the story click the page to see the photo.
I (Darcie) managed to get the photo credit even though Jason took the picture. I guess holding the flash with a softbox attached while making witty conversation aught to count for something …

Anne + Dean had a beautiful wedding this weekend outdoors at Roweena’s Inn on the River. It’s a peaceful and beautiful location to get married as the historic house is surrounded by a golf course, the Harrison River, trees and mountains. They were extremely relaxed and enjoyed their special day surrounded by their family and friends including their attendants who were the match makers. Here are a few of our favorites. Be sure to check back next week to see the slideshow of their wedding day.

After photographing Laurel + Jacqueline in their beautiful backyard this week, I am willing to bet serious money that Jacqueline can do more cartwheels than you can! I don’t mean a measly 10 cartwheels in a row. I’m talking over a minute straight of cartwheels, followed by upside down and right side up swinging and then a little trampoline jumping to top it off. I was pretty impressed but judging by the indifference of her regular audience, it seems that she has a non-stop, one girl gymnastics show going on.
Laurel on the other hand appears to be calm, cool and collected. She has such depth in her eyes. We’re pretty sure we saw a mischievous twinkle in there as well though.
They are both regulars at Revival Arts Studio and got in early to our Lifetime Portrait Club so we look forward to photographing them for many more years. Here are a few of our favorites from their session this week …

You notice how fast time is passing when you look at young children. Kiera and Lucus must be eating their veggies as they have grow a lot since their last annual session. They stopped by our studio this week for some fun portraits of them just being themselves. They are one of a handful of our early clients who had the foresight to join our Lifetime Portrait Club while it was still available. Now we have the pleasure of seeing them regularly for their birthday sessions.
Here are a few of our favorites …

Olivia and Nolan have been coming to us for photography since they were babes. They are now seasoned pros and have even been cover kids for two favorite commercial clients – Mally Bibs and Kindermusik. We are honored when families come back to us regularly and, cheesy as it sounds, trust us to capture their precious memories of their children.
Here are a few favorites from their photography session this week at Cultus Lake …

You can find our pricing on our website under “pricing”. There are only two times available so give Darcie a call at 604-864-6339 to make arrangements now.

Finn came for his first portrait session at four weeks old. He was very alert and absolutely adorable. He seems to enjoy eating as he already has a great selection of rolls. Here are a few of our favorites …
