bc ferries circles

We are receiving calls and email from people registering for our monthly photography workshop this fall and still have some room. If you are in need of some bonding time with your camera, you should join us. You can find all the information in our original post.
We enjoyed living in Gorge Harbour on Cortes Island for a week. Cortes Island is rather remote and is a 40 minute ferry ride from Quadra Island which is a short ferry ride from Campbell River. Unfortunately the weather was more on the cloudy and rainy side but we still had fun relaxing and hanging out with Jason’s parents. Here are a few of the hundreds of photos we took …
The entrance to Gorge Harbour

Lexi and Grandpa (Jason’s Dad) throwing rocks into the ocean.

Lexi 2 years and Xander 5.5 years enjoying the water.

Out for lunch with Jason’s parents, Peter + Donna, in Squirrel Cove.

Jason’s food often gets photographed before it gets eaten.

A bunch of Browns lounging by the ocean.

Self portrait.

Lexi shopping.

Eeek! A snake.

Jason and I out on a hot date at the Floathouse in Gorge Harbour. The food was amazing.

While we were on a walk in the rain Xander found a new friend. Unfortunately the friend made a dash for it when Xander wasn’t looking.

Reading our new book featuring Canadian art from the bookstore in Manson’s Landing.

Supper. Yum yum.

We have some more abstract and nature vacation pictures to post. It’s hard to narrow them down so we thought we’d spread them out a bit.
We are getting a little rest & relaxation at Gorge Harbour on Cortez Island. It’s quiet, it’s beautiful and there is no schedule. What more could you ask for? Here are a few snippets of the trip to Cortez:

A rare sighting – Lexi asleep in the car…

Lindsay + Eddie had a beautiful wedding day yesterday at The Falls in Chilliwack, BC. They are high school sweet hearts and were more than ready to tie the knot. The weather was hot and humid even though it was cloudy and even drizzled a couple times.
We love photographing at The Falls golf course as we get escorted around in golf carts and are able to use areas not occupied by golfers. We’re not avid golfers but the views and scenery on this course are almost enough to convince us to pick up a set of clubs. The wedding food at The Falls is not your typical wedding fare. Last night we had tendori chicken, wasabi salmon and grilled steak plus a nice selection of delectable salads. Dessert was make your own sundaes. Mmmmm.
Congratulations Lindsay + Eddie. It was an honour to photograph your wedding and we hope you have a relaxing honeymoon in Disneyland.

Elle and Paige have been having photos with us on their birthdays for the last few years. They were one of our early clients and got on board with the Lifetime Portrait Club while we still offered it. Their mom, Andrea, has a wall of beautiful photos of the girls and is an unofficial member of our sales team made up of happy clients who refer their friends to us.
This year we went to the Crescent Beach in Surrey, BC for something different. It was beautiful. Sea grass, sandy beach, cool water and large stones. It was also entertaining as our new beach buddy, Charles, just wanted to get in on the action and his dad seemed distracted and oblivious to his son’s contributions to our photography. Can you spot him?

Here are our favorites of Elle + Paige …

You can see how they’ve grown by checking out their previous sessions. Elle + Paige’s 2007 portraits and 2006 portraits.
Jason was up early this morning to photograph the sunrise. With two little kids and a thriving business we don’t take as much time to photograph the beauty of nature as we should. Here are a few of his favorites …

Nicole and Ron Garza of Mally Designs have launched their new Mally Bibs collection. The designs and adorable models were tons of fun to photograph. These practical and stylish bibs are all Lexi has ever used. After each use we just give it a rinse under the sink and hang it back on the fridge. It’s so easy.
We’ve been doing Mally Bibs’ photography for several years now and it’s been great to watch the collection expand and the business grow. We have recently moved into a warehouse and office space with them. While they are busy making leather bibs in the warehouse, we are taking pictures of people upstairs.
Here are a few of our favorites from this year’s shoot. Some of the models may look familiar as quite a few are our clients, plus the cute little girl with the waterfall ponytail is our daughter.

The Abbotsford International Airshow was on this weekend and we enjoyed watching some of the performances from our yard. It was great to see both the Thunderbirds and the Snowbirds out this year.

We went to Green Lake at the beginning of summer and finally have caught up on client work and have some time to post our personal pictures. We have one more crazy week of work and then we’re off to Quadra Island for a little more vacation before school starts. This is the first year that we have a child in school! Xander will be going to kindergarten at ASIA – Abbotsford School of Integrated Arts.
Anyway, here are a few more vacation pictures …
