We still have room for some more kids to join us on Saturday, March 1st for mini portrait sessions.
These sessions are 15 - 20 minutes in length and are done in our studio. The $100 cost includes the session for 1 - 3 children, a 7 day private, online gallery to order from and an 8×10 portrait. All specialty studio items such as prints, art canvases, albums, holiday cards and frames are available for purchase as well. Here is a link to a few portraits from our February sessions.
If you have any questions or are ready to book a session, please contact Darcie at 604-864-6339 or by email.

We’ve got the bestest neighbors! Not only do they give us eggs when we’re in the middle of baking and realize we have none left, they’ll let us perform photographic experiments on them. While the kids were taking turns racing around in the coveted Kotyk car, we flashed the neighbors …

If you covet our amazing neighbors, they could be your neighbors too! Our townhouse is for sale. You can check out our MLS listing here.

We have an idea for a maternity session that we’re eager to try out so we’re offering a free maternity session ($200 value) and 15% off any products you purchase.
We are looking for a fun, outgoing rock star mama who is 28 - 36 weeks pregnant who will allow us to photograph her and use the pictures in our portfolio. If you are shy about exposing your belly or are envisioning soft and romantic portraits, this is not the session for you. We are after an edgy look and would love to have your partner participate. If he has tattoos or toned arms we’ll be extra excited.
We have openings on Wednesday, February 27th and Friday, February 29th at 1:00. Please contact Darcie for more information.
Xander, our 5 year old son, showed an interest in snapping a few pictures this weekend. So we carefully handed over the d3 and snickered as we watched him grunt and stagger under the weight of the camera. He carefully lined up his subject, snapped the shutter and then quickly checked the playback. We admit that we’re 196% biased and are pretty darn proud of his great portrait composition skills! Check out our favorites pictures from our little hot shot …

It was an exciting night last night - we finally got our shipment of Alien Bees strobe lights from Nashville! They’re small and cute, quite powerful, and easy to setup.
Ready for the unveiling…

One of the lights we unpacked, called a ring flash, produces very unique images where there are no shadows except for a soft outline around the subject.

We did our first shoot and they all worked perfectly. We’re buzzing with happiness!
The Fasts are some of the most talented, down to earth people we’ve worked with. I’ve always wondered if they have a couple sound proof rooms in their home for all the music practicing that goes on - voice, piano, violin, guitar, keyboards and who knows what else.
They asked Jason to take some photographs for their newest CD. They were looking for something artistic, classy and fun. We’ll post their final cover and a link to their gospel music website when it’s all ready. In the meantime, here are a few of the photos from their session …

We had a super cool valentine’s day evening with a red + white theme - red candles, white candelabra, red and white roses, red and white checkered tablecloth, red wine, and red cinnamon hearts. Xander had a blast helping with icing and putting red sprinkles on sugar cookies. Dinner was an amazing spaghetti with meat sauce that takes literally all day to make - and it was yummy!

Our February mini sessions were a ton of fun and produced some amazing portraits of the kids. You can check out a small sampling of the portraits here.
We’re ready to do it again on Saturday, March 1st!
Mini sessions are $100, for 1 - 3 children of any age (newborn, baby, toddler, preschooler, school age) in our studio and last about 20 minutes. Each session includes an 8×10 portrait and an online gallery of approximately 15 images with online ordering for one week. All specialty studio items are also available for purchase including prints, art canvases, albums, holiday cards and frames.
Because of limited availability, mini sessions bookings are taken on a first come, first serve basis. Please call 604-864-6339 or email to reserve your time.

The Fossum family has spent many hours on Crescent Beach and decided it would be the perfect location for their family portraits. We agree. The weather was perfect and the view of the mountains was stunning.
