I had the opportunity to photograph some promotional images for the Aida Band’s new CD today. The band consists of lead singer and keyboardist, Jenn Falk, bassist Jamie Falk, (who is also one of the members of Hasting) and drummer Jared Falk. Yes, this much talent can reside in one family.
It was perfect weather for the shoot. Here’s some favorites:

Xander recently got the Fisher-Price digital camera and has a blast snapping away. There’s several buttons to press on it, and they all make pretty neat sounds. With the ultra cool sound that the delete button makes, its a wonder he actually has some images left on it! Here’s some that I salvaged:

part of some wall art:

We went to Richmond this week to photograph newborn Maraya Emma. We had just done Libby’s maternity portraits 9 days before Maraya arrived.
Maraya is tiny, adorable, loves to be held and looked deep into our camera lens. Her grandparents are very excited and Cliff and Libby are in love with her and lacking sleep like all new parents. Here she is…

I.D. Salon, the hair boutique across from where I used to work, invited us out to do a few more head shots of staff for their website. The building they are located in is gorgeous, so we didn’t need to go far to get great images.

And a fun group shot…

We had great weather for photographing some more Westcoast Baby products in action. The little models were naturals as you can see below. We also captured some great images of the owners, Nicole and Amanda, as well as their families.
Here’s a sampling of our favorites:

Andrea Dickson came to our studio to be photographed at 39 weeks. From the back, you’d never know she’s pregnant but from the front there is no mistaking her cute baby belly. We can’t wait to meet Baby. Here are a few of our favorites…

We’re looking for maternity models right now and are offering free sessions. If you are 30+ weeks pregnant please visit our website or contact us for more information.

A former co-worker, Patty, and her husband Adrian, brought young Landon in for some portraits. He was wide eyed and laid back until we took off his clothes. Here are a few of our favorites…

We enjoyed photographing the Simulan family at their beautiful home in Richmond, BC. Coral brought out her entourage of stuffed friends to show us while Trey and Ty, her 5 month old twin brothers, kept in great spirit the whole session.
Some faves:

We had a fun session with Laurel and Jackie, using both a past client’s farm and their own farm for backdrops. One of the images from the session will be a birthday gift for their Dad. I think it’s going to be a tough decision…

Part of my (Darcie’s) role as a Kindermusik educator at The Little Brown Music Studio is educating parents about their child’s development. This week I am hosting a workshop that is also open to Revival Arts Studio families.
What can you do to help your child get ready to read? What a great question! Recent research identifies six pre-reading skills that will prepare your child to learn to read. Produced by the American Library Association, this presentation provides caregivers and parents with the tools to explore these skills based on different age groups. During this adult only evening, you will also learn valuable information about the importance of early literacy.
Presented by Andrea Bouskill of the Abbotsford Early Childhood Committee on Tuesday, February 20 at 7:00pm at our home. Please RSVP to Darcie at 604-864-6838 or by emailing.
