We are looking for a few tiny models to capture in their newborn innocence. We are developing new promos for 2007 and need some fresh babies to put on them. If you have a little bundle of joy under 5 weeks, give us a call. We will come to your place and you can relax while we artistically photograph your baby.
The session is on us and you’ll receive 15% off our regular product prices. Please pass the word on if you know someone who has a newborn.

The other day we were admiring some portraits of Darcie’s grandparents, John and Tina Klassen. Grandpa Klassen passed away before I (Darcie) was born so this portrait, along with a few snapshots and stories, have created all my memories of him.

Here is the portrait of my Grandma Klassen taken before she was married.

We laughed when we recently looked at the back of the photo. My grandma was an original subscriber to the reduce, reuse, recycle philosophy. On the back of her custom portrait she reused a brown paper bag as the dust cover.

She wrote: Taken in Winnipeg in 1937. I was 23 years old. Taken in the Lafayete Studio as I was working in Winnipeg.
The funniest part is the text on the bottom left: Renewed in 1960. First string lasted 23 years.
The second string is almost up for renewal and will have lasted over 45 years!

The Castley family recently welcomed Piper into their familly. We had an informal session with Piper and her brother Jacob.
Here are some favorites:

This portrait of Piper and Jacob was made into a 16×20 print

Wow, I can’t believe it’s been a year already…and so much has changed since I first started the blog. We’ve gotten busy enough that I don’t even have the time to write blog posts - so Darcie has been doing a fine job with that. The first post for client work is HERE We’re now at post number 243!
A couple highlights from the past year -
- Added a digital camera to the arsenal of gear in April
- Lexi joined our family in June
- A new RAV4 also joined the family (to replace our quickly deteriorating ‘93 Golf)
- I became a member of and recently stepped down from the Bassic Sax Jazz Ensemble. I think I will miss playing with them.
- It was the busiest wedding and portrait season yet - check back through the blog to see samples from past sessions of the year.
We’re looking forward to 2007!

Maclean came by with his mom for some updated photos. Like many 2 year old boys, he enjoys trains, books, and heavy duty machinery. We just happened to have some toys on hand for him to play with. Here are a few of our favs…

To celebrate Lexi’s 5th birthday month, we did the obvious and took some photos. Jason got some funky new backdrops so Lexi got to test them out.
At five months, Lexi is super cute and her favorite pastimes are sucking her hands, giggling at funny sounds, and shaking toys to make sounds.

Mmmmm….yummy hands.

Mmmmm….yummy finger tips.

If you’ve got a wee one you’d like photos done of, we can come to your place to make life easier for you or you’re welcome to come hang out at ours for a relaxed portrait session. We encourage parents of children to get some photos done around 6 months as children are especially cute at that age and it is easier to capture them in their pre-mobile stage.

The Levesque family had their portraits scheduled on the first day we had snow this year. We headed up to the monestary in Mission where they braved the cold and got some great photos with the snow falling. Here are a few of our favorites…

Thomas was such a cutie and loved to smile for the camera.

Noah enjoyed climbing the stairs and had a special bowl of candy.
